About Hvar

Hvar is the sunniest, most popular and the island with the most guests in the Croatian Adriatic Sea. Hvar has been elected as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world (by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, November 2006).

Rich cultural and historic heritage that dates back to pre-historic times, unique gastronomy, beautiful beaches and bays, crystal blue sea and the hospitality of the local people are the guarantees of a holiday you will always remember.

The most beautiful place on the island is certainly Hvar town. Hvar twon is situated in a picturesque natural setting, facing the south, the sun and the sea. Many people say of Hvar town that it is a town as from a fairy- tale because its arhitecture, wonderful nature and its mild climate.

The City of Hvar has an architectonic structure that still today conditions strongly the habits and the daily life: everything takes place around the epicenter represented from its public square and from the river, inside of the old city walls, where the entrance of motor vehicles is forbidden and who takes a walk moves to the inside of one great pedestrian area. So it is very easy to be attracted by coffees bar, shops and from the several stores placed in the alleys and from the small restaurants.

The breakfast early riser in the coffees bar on along sea becomes a daily ritual for the tourist.
Drinking a coffee, a cappuccino and eating a pastry, you can read the first newspapers, meet new friends, program the day. By noon most visitors have ventured off to the Paklinski islands or to other beaches for a day of fun in the sunIn the late afternoon the city is revived: the tourists re-enter from beaches, the inhabitants, after the warmer hours of the day, gladly make a walk on seafront and the city returns to being a meeting place.

the city offers a lot also to who is interested in a cultural walk, with numerous museums, monuments, historical buildings that can be visited every day. The overhanging visit to fortress is an experience not to lose for the treasures of the building and the sight of the cities and of the archipelago of the islands,

The night-panorama of this city becomes charming, because all the artistic patrimony is illuminated and everything appears like a great crip. The pedestrian area of the entire centre invites to go out and to enjoy the walks on along sea.
The city is full of original stores where local handicraft souvenirs can be bought , such as lavender and rosemary essence, a true tradition of this island that from the ancient times is called the lavender and rosemary island.

On along sea there are innumerable bars where the night can be spent in a spirit of joy meeting people, but to the inside of the old city there are still some traditional wine cellars (konobe) where the accompanied local wine from a plate of prosciutto Dalmatian can be tried.
The supper passed in one of the restaurants of the city is truly pleasant because the choice is immenseThe young people and those that love the nights of music can choose between numerous discotheques and disc-bar that they represent encounter places, opened until the dawn, attends from personages celebrates to you of the sport, the show or the fashion of all the world. One characteristic of Hvar, perhaps underrated and little famous to more, is represented from the climate and from the absolutely international atmosphere that characterizes it and that of it represents one of the values more consolidates you of the tourist tradition: or who it loves classic music is possible to participate to the musical evenings to the Convent of the Franciscans, or to the evenings of lyric music and organ in Cathedral : they are absolutely exceptional architectonic contexts that gratify also the sight beyond that the ear of gets passionate to you.
